‘Movie Title Breakup’: A short film in which every line is a movie title

We've all seen couples break up in movies. It’s a familiar scene: a boyfriend and girlfriend or husband and wife are having dinner, and the passive aggressive small-talk soon escalates into a full-blown argument and usually a breakup.

But have you ever seen a couple split up using only movie titles as dialogue? Now you can!

In the short film “Movie Title Breakup,” a couple breaks up with one another via the use of 154 movie titles (see the full list of titles on the video’s YouTube page). Not your typical public spat, but at least the waitress plays along.

The clever video comes from POYKPAC, the New York-based internet sketch comedy group behind such videos as “The Hipster Olympics” and “Mario: Game Over.”

The four-minute sketch must have been quite difficult to script. Don't think so? Next time you see your friend, significant other, or spouse, try communicating using only movie titles. It's much harder than it looks and requires an encyclopedic knowledge of film. Try it some time... but just don't use it to break up with your significant other.
