Key & Peele are ecstatic to meet ‘Non-Stop’ star Liam Neeson

Not that Universal Studios really need much help to sell audiences on the upcoming Liam Neeson action film “Non-Stop,” but a well-placed video tie-in with a popular sketch comedy duo never hurts.

The high-altitude thriller puts Neeson in the role of a U.S. Air Marshall trying to stop a mysterious hostage taker from killing passengers aboard a transatlantic flight. In "Non-Stop," the Irish actor is basically playing the same butt-kicking character that he played in the “Taken” movies, “Unknown” (his previous collaboration with director Jaume Collet-Serra), and “The Grey,” only this time the action is transplanted to a hijacked airliner. The movie sells itself.

Enter sketch comedy purveyors Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, stars of the Comedy Central series “Key & Peele.” The pair rolled out two of their most popular recurring characters - The Valets - for a “Non-Stop”-themed sketch featuring a cameo appearance by Neeson himself. The valets are known for their love of action heroes like “The Batmans,” “Bruce Willy,” and of course, “Liam Neesons,” as well as excessive enthusiasm for said big screen heroes that causes them to, well, explode.

In this “Non-Stop”-themed sketch, the two hotel employees are animatedly re-enacting Neeson's latest movie only to have their antics interrupted by Neeson in the flesh (who really just wants to get his car). The actor's appearance is simply too much for the valets to handle and things end the way they do in most Liam Neeson movies. With explosions!

"Non-Stop" flies into theatres on February 28. Watch the trailer below:
