Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Movie: The Movie’ promises to be the greatest movie of our time

Step aside "Citizen Kane" and "Gone with the Wind!" There's a new contender for the title of Greatest movie ever courtesy of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Unsatisfied with the limited genres represented on Oscar night, Kimmel and his staff have created a faux-trailer for the most star-studded film spectacular of all time: "Movie: The Movie," which the late-night talk show host debuted during his post-Oscars special late Sunday night.

Produced by explosion maestro Michael Bay and directed by "visionary directors" J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek") and Martin Scorsese ("Hugo"), "Movie: The Movie" is the "romantically comic, political action-thriller-drama" that audiences have apparently been waiting for. The faux-film features an all-star cast that includes a moustachioed Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron as a gun-toting judge, George Clooney as a wheelchair-bound scientist, Tom Hanks as a robotic attorney, Kimmel favourite Matt Damon as... grapes, Gary Oldman as a Centaur Senator, and Taylor Lautner as, -- you guessed it -- a werewolf.

If you can imagine it, this movie trailer probably has it. Take a look:

Sadly, Kimmel's "Movie: The Movie" won't ever be coming to a theatre near you, but at least audiences will always have this epic nine-minute trailer for the greatest movie never made.
