Wide Screen‘Hellboy’ Ron Perlman makes sick child’s dream come true
While there may never be another "Hellboy" movie, actor Ron Perlman and special effects studio Spectral Motion recently brought the comic book movie character out of retirement for a very special occasion. Teaming with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that arranges special wishes to be granted for children with life-threatening illnesses, Perlman and Spectral Motion granted two wishes for a boy named Zachary.
According to the Spectral Motion Facebook page, Zachary's wishes were to meet Hellboy and also to become Hellboy. When contacted by Make-A-Wish with this request, Spectral Motion wanted to do everything it could and reached out to Perlman. The actor loved the idea and he soon found himself reprising the role of the supernatural investigator, spending nearly 5 hours in the make-up chair to fulfill Zachary's wish.
After the meet-and-greet with his fictional hero, the special make-up effects artists worked to transform Zachary into an adorable pint-sized version of the character.

Perlman isn't the only actor who has done this kind of character charity work. In 2007, after Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose was treated for kidney failure at a London hospital, Depp reportedly followed up by visiting the children's ward as his "Pirates of the Caribbean" character Jack Sparrow to entertain the kids. It's a little thing, but it can make all the difference in the life of a sick child. Hopefully more actors will follow suit.
