Burning Question: What Was the Story With the Oscar Pizza Delivery?

Was that a real pizza place that delivered to Ellen in the middle of the Oscars telecast?

Oh yes. Big Mama's & Papa’s pizza is a real place at a very real address on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. As the crow flies, it's less than a mile from the Dolby Theatre, home of the big telecast. According to a man who picked up the phone at the shop, the delivery was arranged through the "boss" of the place, which, I assume, would be Big Papa, though he wasn't there when we rang. In fact, they hung up on us when we called back asking to speak with the aforementioned Papa.

As for what the rest of Los Angeles thinks of Big Mama's & Papa's, the shop's Yelp review is pretty middling, at three and a half out of five stars.

"The pizza was also OK," one Yelp reviewer wrote last month. "Not great. Not anything like a real New York white pizza, but decent."

Once the pizza appeared on TV however, Twitter lit up:

Still, we do have one question: Did all that money from Pharrell's hat really go to the delivery man?
