‘The Artist’s’ Jean Dujardin gets his own ‘Funny or Die’ video

Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Jean Dujardin ("The Artist") is one of the hottest quantities in Hollywood right now. But what comes next for French superstar?

If he follows in the footsteps of other great foreign actors who have made it big in Hollywood, his options might be a little limited. European actors are often relegated to two kinds of Tinseltown roles: the dark and mysterious foreign guy in romantic comedies or dramas, or the archetypal accented villain in action movies. It's sad but true.

Well it looks like Dujardin isn't having any of it. The actor, who started his career as a comedian in his native France, appears in a new "Funny or Die" video poking fun at Hollywood's tendency to relegate European actors to those kinds of roles.

What Dujardin actually has planned for his post-"Artist" career is anyone's guess at this point. He'll have a lot of options available to him if he wins the Best Actor Oscar later this month.

Dujardin is slated to star in a number of French films between now and 2013, but after that, Hollywood is his oyster. Well, as long as he wants to play James Bond villains or tall, dark strangers in Reese Witherspoon rom-coms.
