The 7 grumpiest answers from Harrison Ford’s Reddit AMA

Legendary "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" actor Harrison Ford paid a visit to Reddit over the weekend to take part in an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session, an online Q&A of sorts.

In true Ford fashion, the actor's Reddit AMA was one of the grumpiest -- and funniest -- ever.

"I love you."
One of Ford’s funniest exchanges came when one Redditor simply posted “I love you” to the answer.

Ford quoted his legendary response from “The Empire Strikes Back”: “I know.”

Did Han Solo shoot first?
For almost two decades, fans have vigorously debated over whether Solo or bounty hunter Greedo "shot first" in “Episode IV's" famous cantina confrontation.

A hilariously terse Ford pulled no punches when asked to settle the debate, replying, “I don't know and I don't care.”

On old grudges
When asked by a fan (who apparently can't tell the difference between actors and the characters they portray) if he still bears any ill-will towards "Star Wars" Cloud City administrator Lando Calrissian, Ford's reply said it all: "Lando who?"

On his "Star Wars" co-star Mark Hamill
The "Star Wars" queries continued when one Redditor asked Ford who would win in a fight between him and co-star Mark Hamill.

"Me, of course," came Ford's almost instantaneous reply.

Han Solo vs. Indiana Jones
Who does the actor think would win in a celebrity boxing match between his two most famous movie characters: Han Solo or Dr. Jones?

“The promoter would win,” Ford replied.

Asked whether he preferred playing Han Solo or Indiana Jones, Ford made his feelings clear.

“I think Indiana Jones was a lot of fun to do because of the places we went to and the adventures and the action,” Ford wrote.“But Han Solo was also a huge part of my life.”

Historically, the actor has never been hugely enthusiastic about playing Solo and even wanted the producers of "Star Wars" to kill the character off at the end of "The Empire Strikes Back." Ford had to settle for the character to be frozen in carbonite.

That infamous "Raiders of the Lost Ark" scene
Asked if he had any funny stories from the sets of the “Indiana Jones” movies, Ford told the true story behind one of the most famous scenes in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”:

“We were shooting in Tunisia, and the script had a scene in which I fight a swordsman, an expert swordsman, it was meant to be the ultimate duel between sword and whip. I was suffering from dysentery, really, found it inconvenient to be out of my trailer for more than 10 minutes at a time,” Ford recalled. “I was puzzling how to get out of this 3 days of shooting, so when I got to set I proposed to Steven that we just shoot the son a bitch and Steve said ‘I was thinking that as well.’ So he drew his sword, the poor guy was a wonderful British stuntman who had practiced his sword skills for months in order to do this job, and was quite surprised by the idea that we would dispatch him in 5 minutes. But he flourished his sword, I pulled out my gun and shot him, and then we went back to England.”

On his grumpy reputation
Ford has has a reputation as something of a grump, and one Reddit user asked the actor if he really hates being interviewed on late-night programs. Surprisingly, though, Ford said he has no problems with it.

"Oh no, in most cases, those guys are so talented and so funny. I don't hate it at all, in fact it's interesting you would think that because I usually have a really good time," Ford wrote. "I'm there to bring attention to some project that's about to be released, and it's great to be able to take advantage of that to bring attention to bring attention to the film."

Regardless of Ford's curmudgeonly reputation, his responses to Reddit were surprisingly candid and funny. He may be a little crotchety from time to time, but for now, it seems like he's playing up that curt reputation for laughs.
