The 11 best moments from the Keanu Reeves Reddit AMA

It was the question-and-answer session the Internet had been waiting for, a no-holds-barred online discussion with The One himself: Keanu Reeves.

To promote his upcoming martial arts flick “Man of Tai Chi,” Reeves hit social news site Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything), fielding questions about his life, his career, and what it’s like to be a living internet meme. During the lengthy Q & A, which lasted about two-and-a-half hours, Reeves answered more than 80 questions posed to him by Redditors. Here are some of the best moments:

So what is it like being immortalized as the Internet meme "Sad Keanu"? Redditor Mustang10988 asked Reeves for his appraisal of the infamous sandwich-contemplating image.

Reeves has worked with some incredible actors over the course of his nearly 30-year career. User flatliner718 wanted to know what it was like working with the late-great Dennis Hopper on “Speed.”

Reeves also had kind things to say about his late “My Own Private Idaho” co-star River Phoenix.

Many actors keep mementos from the projects they were involved in; user Theworst2013 was curious to know if Reeves kept any of the props or costumes from his movies.

And no, he doesn’t have the phone booth time machine from the “Bill & Ted” movies in his living room.

Reeves has worked with some of the greatest filmmakers in the world and in almost every kind of movie, but user MagnumPunk wanted to know who the 49-year-old actor still wants to work with and what film genres he’d like to tackle.

Not to be outdone by his “Dracula” co-star Sir Anthony Hopkins, Reeves also expressed his love for a certain recently wrapped-up television series.

While most actors and filmmakers tend to have a hard time wrapping their heads around the concept of Reddit, Reeves jumped right in and quickly won over the community. So why does he shy away from social media like Twitter or Facebook?

Though Reeves was born in Lebanon and moved around quite a bit as a child, he primarily grew up in Toronto. More than a few Redditors asked Reeves to talk about his memories of the city.

When he was asked about his current musical tastes, Reeves also revealed that he’s a big fan of the Toronto punk band METZ.

Redditor STR1K3RJUST1N asked Reeves’about his two great passions: Acting and hockey.

Overall, Reeves’ AMA was polite, funny, and surprisingly candid. The famously private actor genuinely seemed to enjoy the experience and signed off in a way that only he could.

“I have to go now, but it was lovely to spend some time with all of you on a Sunday afternoon,” he wrote.” Thank you. And for those of you who would like to hear it, for you... Whoa.”

“Man of Tai Chi” hits theatres on Nov. 1.
