Scarlett Johansson flashes engagement ring at TIFF
Scarlett Johansson engaged her Toronto fans on Tuesday with some new bling. The "Don Jon" star flashed her new engagement ring on the red carpet at the movie's Toronto International Film Festival premiere at the Princess of Wales Theater.
Johansson debuted the sparkler -- a vintage Art Deco ring -- last week at the Venice International Film Festival, the day before Us Weekly confirmed she was engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac.
At TIFF, the 28-year-old actress wore a minimalist little black Yves Saint Laurent dress and a simple necklace of pearls, all the better to show off her new jewelry. And she was surprisingly open about her engagement during a chat with ET Canada.
"My friend was like 'congrats on timing,'" Johansson said, of getting engaged right before TIFF, adding, "things work out the way they do, maybe it's better just to get it out the way."
Interviewer Roz Weston noted the blond bombshell is "notoriously private" about her personal life but that when he asked her about her upcoming nuptials she was "totally cool with it."
This will be Johansson's second time down the aisle. She wed Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds in 2008, but they divorced three years later.
