Benedict Cumberbatch gathers his female entourage at ‘Fifth Estate’ premiere

The "man of the festival" certainly had his fair share of women around him during the opening night gala of his film "The Fifth Estate" at the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday night.

Benedict Cumberbatch, whose female fans go by a somewhat bizarre moniker, was flanked by three different leading ladies at various points in the night, including co-stars Carice Van Houten and Alicia Vikander and British actress Juno Temple, who is at TIFF promoting "Horns."

The 37-year-old "Sherlock" star posed with both Van Houten and Vikander on the red carpet for "The Fifth Estate." Then, at Soho House's Grey Goose vodka party for the film's producer Michael Sugar, Cumberbatch was seen deep in conversation with van Houten on a Chesterfield. At the same party, he posed for photos with Vikander and Temple.

But female fans poised to attack should set their sights elsewhere. Rumour has it that Cumberbatch is in fact romancing British actress Laura Carmichael, better known as Lady Edith from "Downton Abbey" (as it happens, her former co-star Dan Stevens appears with Cumberbatch in "The Fifth Estate"). Gossip mongers had a field day when the duo was spotted together at a Lady Gaga concert in London on Sunday.

Cumberbatch reportedly broke up with actress Olivia Poulet, his girlfriend of 12 years, in 2011. He was most recently attached to Russian model Katia Elizarova.
