Vivienne Jolie-Pitt to play opposite Angelina in ‘Maleficent’

Like mother, very much like daughter.

Disney just announced that Angelina Jolie's youngest daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, will play opposite her famous mum in the live-action origin story, "Maleficent."

Four-year-old Vivienne is set to play the young Princess Aurora, who if you'll recall from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" (1959), becomes cursed to a deep slumber by the excessively evil and oddly horned Maleficent, played by Jolie.

"Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to share, and Viv is a natural," a source told British Tabloid The Sun. "The other kids are now nagging Ange and Brad to land them roles."

As you'd expect, this version of the classic tale focuses primarily on the title character, and what motivates her to perform such cursed acts. It's a formula that proved effective for Charlize Theron in this summer's hit "Snow White and the Huntsman."

This wouldn't be the first time a Jolie-Pitt progeny has performed in one of their parent's films: Shiloh Jolie-Pitt played the baby Caroline in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (2008), which starred dad Brad Pitt.

Of course, the global superstar knows what it's like to break into acting at a young age; Jolie was only seven when she made her big screen debut in Hal Ashby's "Looking to Get Out" (1982), a critical flop that was co-written by and starred Jolie's father, Jon Voight. Interestingly enough, the experience soured the young actress, so much so that Jolie briefly considered a career in funeral directing before returning to the family business.

"Maleficent" is currently being shot in London, and is slated to hit theaters in March of 2014. The film also stars Elle Fanning as the elder Princess Aurora, Juno Temple, Brenton Thwaites, Sharlto Copley, Miranda Richardson, and India Eisley as the young Maleficent.
