Movie monsters come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny Gremlins to the towering Godzilla. But it's a mistake to assume that just because they might be destructive, ugly, and extraordinarily grumpy, it would be a mistake to think they are all innately evil. Many are simply misunderstood.

With Halloween approaching, we wanted to classify our favorite movie monsters in an infographic to plot out in a quadrant chart how big and how evil each one is in relation to each other. The sizes range from the bloodthirsty biters from "Piranha" (which measure under a foot), to the city-stomping Kaiju from this summer's "Pacific Rim" (they can grow to nearly 600').

The other axis measures each monster's temperament, with the gentle Sasquatch of "Harry and the Hendersons" at one end, and the cackling wickedness of Freddy Kruger at the other extreme. Of course, just because someone (or something) is smaller and not intentionally sinister, it doesn't mean that they can't wreak havoc (take the telekinetic Carrie, for example).
