Jennifer Lawrence Shows Mad Range in Dueling Movie Posters

Jennifer Lawrence is a complicated woman.

As you can see in two separate film posters released this week, there's more than one side to the multi-faceted Oscar winner. From brave young hunter turned deadly Hunger Games survivor to seventies sexpot, Lawrence shows she can bring home the bacon AND fry it up in a pan.

On Monday, Lionsgate released the new poster for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," the second installment in the uber-popular franchise based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novels. The image captures everything fans love about Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen.

Once again, Lawrence/Katniss is showing off her skills as an archer, drawing her bow and aiming at some target off the page. But while she looks as steely and determined as ever, there's just the slightest hint of fear in her eyes. Given that "Catching Fire" finds Katniss living in an uncomfortable middle ground between the decadence enjoyed by tournament winners and her loyalty to the desperate souls of District 12, the uncertainty suits the material well.

And with the Mockingjay symbol of the rebellion in the background, the poster is a powerful visual allegory for the themes of the second "Hunger Games" tale. We could hardly have asked for a better visual representation of Katniss.

But after winning an Oscar for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook," Lawrence cemented the fact she has far more range than just young adult-oriented fantasy fare. "American Hustle" gives Lawrence a chance to show off yet another facet in her quiver: her sexy, willful side.

The new "American Hustle" poster featuring Lawrence was one of five that has emerged this week, each showing a different actor from the film, including Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, and Amy Adams, dressed up in their best mid-1970s finery.

In her poster, Lawrence could pass for a character from "Boogie Nights," with blonde hair piled high on her head, a slinky off-white gown that shows plenty of cleavage, big dangling earrings, and eyes lined with "come hither" mascara. Factor in the hands-on-hips body language, and Lawrence looks like a Carter-era maneater.

In the film, Lawrence plays Rosalyn Rosenfeld, the firecracker wife of Irving Rosenfeld (Bale), a conman forced to work his magic for the FBI. Based on the true story of the influence-peddling ABSCAM scandal of the 1970s, "American Hustle" reteams Jennifer Lawrence with director and screenwriter David O. Russell, the man behind "Silver Linings Playbook."

"SLP" gave Lawrence plenty of shine time, and she delivered an Academy Award for her effort. While "American Hustle" finds her in a supporting role rather than a lead, the poster gives us hope she'll make us remember every minute of her smaller role.

Is anyone else hungry for bacon?
