Hollywood’s Attacks on the Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge turns 75 this weekend. The beloved California landmark has been a popular target in action flicks. It seems Hollywood just can't resist blowing the bridge sky high.

Over the years the Golden Gate has been ripped apart by mutants in "X-Men: The Last Stand," melted by unfiltered sunlight in "The Core," taken over by hyper-intelligent primates in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", and destroyed by an earthquake in "Superman," and even eaten by a giant shark in "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus." Poor bridge -- what did it ever do to deserve such rage?
