Chris Hemsworth, Loving on His New Thor Braids

Who cares about his ever-powerful hammer, we want to know about Thor's hair!

Chris Hemsworth revealed one reason he is psyched about the upcoming "Thor: The Dark World," and it's not what you might expect. "This was my hair, mostly," the hunky 30-year-old star cheerily bragged to Yahoo Movies.

"In the first couple of films it was a wig — one I wasn't really a fan of," Hemsworth admitted of his earlier turns as Thor in his 2011 debut followed by "The Avengers." in 2012.

"The amount of times that wig was, in the first two films, in my face and [we had to] cut and had to rearrange it — it was a nightmare," Hemsworth said. "I was a fan of this one more."

And in this one, Thor has (wait for it) braids! "And we were able to kind of [add] Viking kind-of braids," Hemsworth said of his newer, more natural style.

If you compare his then-and-now pics, it also appears as though his beard also went au naturel. (Notice how earlier Thor has decidedly more blond in his brows and beard than he does now.)

I guess when you're wielding a giant, magical hammer, you can get the costume designers to do whatever you please.

"Thor: The Dark World" wields it's mighty hammer into theaters on Nov. 8.
