'Walk of Shame' Clip: Elizabeth Banks Is Hollywood's Hardest-Working Woman

Few actors have the range to jump from a Sundance drama, to a hit animated kids film, to an R-rated comedy, to a hard-edged mystery, to a musical biopic, to a new installment of a record-breaking YA franchise. Not only can Elizabeth Banks accomplish that, she'll do it all in one calendar year.

Banks is having a banner 2014, squeezing roles from nearly every genre you can think of into one 12 month period. The star, who turned 40 this past February, has six films rolling out this year, including the bawdy comedy "Walk of Shame" hitting theaters in less than two weeks.

Banks kicked off the year with an independent drama "Little Accidents," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In that, she plays a small-town woman searching for her missing teenage son. Next up, she has another indie drama, "Every Secret Thing," debuting this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, where she plays a police detective on the trail of a kidnapped child. Later this year, she'll be in the Brian Wilson biography "Love and Mercy," where she'll play the second wife of the troubled former Beach Boy (played in his later years by John Cusack).

Banks isn't forgetting her funny side, either. She was the voice of the iconoclastic heroine Wyldstyle in this spring's smash, "The Lego Movie." But she really cuts loose in "Walk of Shame," where she plays a local news anchor who has a one-night stand that jeopardizes her one shot at a big network gig.

Of course, Banks has one more hugely anticipated film coming this year: "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1." Last year's "Catching Fire" was the highest-grossing movie of Banks's career, topping the first chapter and all three installments of the original "Spider-Man" trilogy, where she had a small role as "Daily Bugle" fixture Betty Brandt. "Mockingjay" will be split into two parts, with the first hitting theaters in Nov. and the second coming a year later.

Next year will bring about one more milestone for Banks. She'll be making her feature directorial debut with "Pitch Perfect 2," the sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit that she both starred in and produced. Banks might be busy this year, but her 2015 will be a-ca-crazy.

"Walk of Shame" arrives in theaters on May 2.
