Speed Date: ‘You’re Next’s Sharni Vinson Tells Us How Domino’s Pizza Changed Everything

In the middle of nowhere, when someone wearing a scary mask says, "You're next," the first thing you do is run and hide. But if Sharni Vinson tells you, "You're next" up for a Speed Date, you say, "Where and when?"

Vinson plays Erin in this week's big Blu-ray release "You're Next," — "a horror/comedy/action/not-what-you'd expect" film, as Vinson described it to us over the phone recently.

"I have the honor of playing a survivalist in this movie… and because of that I'm able to turn the tables on these crazy masked intruders that are trying to come in and attack this family."

And now we have the honor of going on a Speed Date with Vinson.

1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Sydney, Australia.

2. When did you realize you want to become an actor?
My mom and my grandma both came through musical theater and are part of a performing arts family, so I remember from the age of two being draped in feather boas being side-stage watching my mom perform in musicals that she was touring the country with, shortly after I was born… From the age of seven I had recited the movie "A Chorus Line" for my entire family, put on the entire stage production, and made them watch.

3. What was the first movie you ever saw?
I remember from a very, very young age being heavily affected by horror movies. I used to have sleepovers with my girlfriend, I must have been six or seven-years-old, and we were allowed to get "Jaws," "Chucky," "Nightmare on Elm Street," "Pet Cemetery," "Urban Legend"… and we would just sit there and watch these horror movies and scare ourselves silly… I loved horror movies… I was weird at six cause that was what I wanted. And my mom let me, so that was even weirder!

4. What movies make you cry?
I cry my t--- off in "Ghost," it's terrible. "Turner & Hooch": I cannot watch a dog die on screen. I cannot do it. I can't. I will cry every time.

5. Do you have any pets?
I have a dog in Australia.

6. Is it an Australian Shepherd?
No. He's a Chocolate Labrador.

7. What's the longest relationship you've been in?
I think the longest was three years, maybe three and a half years?

8. Do you want kids?
One day. Not today, please.

9. Have you ever had a roommate from hell?
No, I've only had one roommate in my life, and I lived with her for four and half years in LA. And she actually played Zee in "You're Next." Her name is Wendy Glenn. She's English and she was the roommate from heaven.

10. What's your biggest pet peeve?
Dishonesty.

11. What food cant you stand?
Chinese. I nearly died when I went to China, I couldn't eat. There was nothing I could eat. It was hilarious; I had to eat McDonalds 24/7.

12. What did you do last Friday night?
I went to my friend's place and we ordered Domino's Pizza and just sat there and chatted and caught up and had a bottle of wine and it was amazing. Dominos is good. I didn't know they did pasta bowls in a bread bowl. That changed everything.

13. When was the last time you looked up an ex on Facebook?
Probably years, because I don't have exes on Facebook. And I wouldn't care anyway, to be honest. To go out of my way to look up somebody I'd have to be very interested in what they're doing right now, and I'm not.

14. Who is your dream co-star?
Liam Neeson, or Ben Affleck, or Ben Foster – I think he's fantastic. Edward Norton, I think he's brilliant.

15. Do you play sports?
I didn't really grow up doing team sports as much as I was a swimmer and a dancer and a horse rider.

16. Have you ever seen a ghost?
No, I haven't, but I've felt one. I've been in the presence of one… I was standing in my wardrobe, and it was a double mirrored wardrobe, like behind me and in front of me. I was standing and packing away my clothes out of a suitcase into the wardrobe, and all of a sudden, behind me, I heard this BANG and the wardrobe moved, and the entire mirror just shook, and it sounded like everything in the wardrobe came crashing down… I just thought the wardrobe had just collapsed. So I opened the glass thinking all the wardrobe was just going to be on the floor because the railing had given out, and everything was in perfect condition, nothing had moved, nothing had changed. Like there was a ghost in the mirror, and he banged on the mirror, I'm telling you. And then when I walked out into the kitchen, the cupboard doors had been opened, and they were all closed… And there was no reason the cupboard doors should be opened.

17. This was your house?
It was an apartment I was renting.

18. And we assume you're not renting it anymore?
No. Out. Gone. See you later. I saged the entire place and it wasn't happening for me.

19. One last question: Would you like to go out again?
What, out of the house?

20. No, on another Speed Date.
Oh sure, Yahoo, please, I would love it! This has been great.
