Disneynature's 'Monkey Kingdom' Trailer Is the Cutest Thing You'll See Today

Since launching in 2008, the Disney Corporation's "Disneynature" line has released four of the five highest grossing nature films in history. Hitting theaters each year for Earth Day, their movies "Earth," "Oceans," "African Cats" and "Chimpanzee" have brought compelling animal and eco stories and stunning imagery to the big screen. Next week brings "Bears," the label's fifth film, but the studio is already looking ahead to its 2015 release: "Monkey Kingdom."

The film documents the lives of a mother monkey and her newborn child within the social structure of the Temple Troop, a large group living in ancient ruins deep in the South Asian jungle. The little family unit has to navigate their way through the strict hierarchy and avoid the many dangers inside and outside of their group.

"Monkey Kingdom" comes from director Mark Linfield and co-director Alastair Fothergill, who previously collaborated on Disneynature's "Chimpanzee." As in the earlier film, "Monkey Kingdom" focuses on a touching story of compassion that can be appreciated by audiences young and old alike. But there are differences in the film, and not just that monkeys have tails and chimps do not. The new one includes a wide variety of animals, including tigers, bears, lizards and scorpions. And with the track from Lorde in the trailer, it's apparent Disneynature isn't just aiming and parents and their kids.

Because, honestly, who can resist the cuteness of a pair of hugging monkey?

"Monkey Kingdom" will swing into theaters in April 2015.
