WHO WILL DIG IT?
People who dig intelligent political thrillers with a heaping side of way-cool action -- like the last three "Bourne" movies.
THREE GOOD REASONS
1Jeremy Renner is quickly becoming Hollywood's go-to guy for action. He's playing Hawkeye this summer in "The Avengers" and Tom Cruise's two-fisted frenemy in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." If there's anyone who can fill Matt Damon's shoes, it's Renner.
2Tony Gilroy wrote all three of the previous "Bourne" movies and directed the wildly underrated "Michael Clayton," starring George Clooney. If there's anyone who can fill director Paul Greengrass's shoes, it's Gilroy.
3Rachel Weisz also stars in this flick, and she's good in just about anything.
BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW
Think the idea of a secret group of government assassins sounds far-fetched? Back in 2010, the New York Times reported that Michael D. Furlong, a senior U.S. defense official, boasted to his colleagues and to author Robert Pelton that his illegal secret spy ring consisted of "my Jason Bournes." The network of CIA agents and Special Forces soldiers in Afghanistan reportedly assassinated several Afghan militants. When the article came out, however, Furlong resigned.
