People who thought "Scarface" was just a little too low-key.

THREE GOOD REASONS

  • 1This looks like a return to the crazed, over-the-top Oliver Stone, who made "Natural Born Killers" and "JFK." Watch for lots of smash cuts and horrific violence shot with Stone's trademark eye-popping color.

  • 2John Travolta and Uma Thurman together again onscreen. They first lit up the screen twisting the night away in "Pulp Fiction." No word on whether they dance together in this flick.

  • 3Salma Hayek may have played a snake-loving stripper/vampire in "From Dusk Till Dawn," but in this flick, she plays a real baddie. Think Tony Montana in a Betty Page 'do, only more ruthless.

Oliver Stone was so confident with Don Winslow's manuscript, he optioned the book and started on the silver-screen adaptation before it was even published. He even used some of his own money to finance the movie.
