Yahoo Movies Birds of Prey's Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins Star Wars spin-off Ahsoka
Birds of Prey badass Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed up for a mission in a galaxy far, far away.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Huntress herself will be part of the Ahsoka cast, opposite Rosario Dawson's striking, titular Jedi and Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker.
Details on her character are non-existent for the time being, but when production finally begins in California this spring, expect some meatier updates.

Will she wield a lightsaber for good, or could Winstead be about to step into the iconic pantheon of Star Wars villainy? Maybe she'll be plastered in motion-captured special effects?

Interestingly, the franchise newcomer's real-life partner is none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi's Ewan McGregor, who's busy with his own solo Star Wars project.
"I'm very excited about it," the Scotsman commented back in 2020. "I think we shot the last one I did in 2003 [Revenge of the Sith], so it's been a while and I'm that much closer to Alec Guinness' age now.

"So that was always the fun part about playing Obi-Wan Kenobi, for me, was to try and study Alec Guinness and think about maybe how he would have behaved in these scenes as a younger man.
"So now I'll be a bit closer and it'll be nice to sort of bridge that gap. It's really exciting."
The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now on Disney+. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+, while Rise of Skywalker is also on Sky Cinema Premiere and NOW.
