BioAtla, Inc.'s stock is down 11%, but insiders still have about US$393k in profit after buying earlier this year

Insiders who bought BioAtla, Inc. (NASDAQ:BCAB) stock lover the last 12 months are probably not as affected by last week’s 11% loss. Reason being, despite the recent loss, insiders original purchase value of US$400k is now worth US$793k.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At BioAtla

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Co-Founder Jay Short bought US$207k worth of shares at a price of US$7.84 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of US$9.75. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

In the last twelve months BioAtla insiders were buying shares, but not selling. Their average price was about US$4.92. To my mind it is good that insiders have invested their own money in the company. But we must note that the investments were made at well below today's share price.
