The Piano Man is letting go of his Long Island estate—but does it come with a Steinway? Billy Joel has placed his sprawling waterfront property on the market with a $49 million price tag. Located on Centre Island, a village in Long Island’s Oyster Bay, the 26-acre plot hosts several structures, including a 20,000-square-foot main home, a three-bedroom guest house, a four-bedroom gate house, a floating dock, a helipad, and two swimming pools. Bonnie Williamson of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing for the property, which enjoys over 2,000 feet of water frontage on Oyster Bay Harbor.

Behind its red brick facade, the main house holds five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half-baths. There’s also a bowling alley, a wine cellar, six fireplaces, a spa and salon area, panoramic water views, and an indoor pool that the Grammy winner covered and instead used as a music room, according to the Wall Street Journal. Per their report, the “Uptown Girl” singer is looking to sell since he and his wife, Alexis Roderick, are spending more time at their Florida property, a $22 million estate that Joel reportedly acquired in 2015.

Though the beachside property, dubbed Middlesea, is currently undergoing renovations to update its interior spaces, listing photos showcase a dreamy pergola-topped patio, stately brick columns and archways, cathedral-style ceilings, and a sunny great room with blonde hardwood floors. The double-height entry foyer features black-and-white tiled marble flooring. Set right off the beach, the guest house appears more recently updated, with a generously sized white marble kitchen and contemporary nautical-style decor.

The abode is near Hicksville, a hamlet also set within the boundaries of Oyster Bay where Joel was raised. The singer-songwriter started purchasing the parcels that make up the property in 2002, when he scooped up 14 acres for $22.5 million.
