Bill would offer options to motorists to pay E-ZPass bills

A bill before the Maryland Senate requires the state to offer options for motorists to pay E-ZPass bills, including an installment plan. Brenda Weishaar told 11 News she can't believe the charges on her E-ZPass bill. She travels the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in her daily work commute from the Eastern Shore to Annapolis. Weishaar had to settle what she considers discrepancies in person, but she ended up paying the full balance on two statements that added up to $162. For months, Maryland deferred billing to give drivers a break during the pandemic. But now, toll bills are due, and in some cases, the amounts owed are staggering.
