Bid on this unique Star Wars toy: A floating Baby Yoda from Disney+ series 'The Mandalorian'

Remember when "Baby Yoda," the cute and cuddly character properly known as "The Child" or Grogu, first appeared on the Disney+ Star Wars series "The Mandalorian" and you couldn't find a single toy?

Well, those days are gone, and now you can even bid on a special collector's edition toy not available at retail in which the character actually hovers and spins in the floating carriage, or pram.

The Mattel Creations toy, called "Star Wars – The Mandalorian The Child in Floating Hover Pram," which includes a Child plush toy within and spins and levitates 2½ inches off the base. The magnetically powered toy plugs into standard U.S. power outlets and physically floats.

Bidding begins in a one-week eBay auction starting today through March 5 at noon ET/9 a.m. PT. For more information, visit MattelCreations.com or ebay.com/MattelCreations. Even before the auction was announced publicly, bidding began and it's currently above $2,100. Accessories include a blanket, gear shift knob and necklace – which fans of the series know draw Grogu's attention.

All proceeds from the winning bid will benefit ProjectArt, a program for artists and underserved K-12 students.

“Mattel Creations is also dedicated to giving back to the next generation of creators," said Mattel president and chief operating officer Richard Dickson in a statement, "which is why ProjectArt is the perfect partner to support through this collaboration, not only by donating an item for their auction, but also by funding ProjectArt’s Los Angeles chapter for 2021 and connecting Mattel designers with students to cultivate creativity.”

Prefer to spend on a sure thing? There's another new toy, "Star Wars – The Mandalorian The Child Collector Edition Plush with Hover Pram" ($400) in which the character appears to hover in a pram – the door will close hiding the Child – but it will only be available from noon ET on March 5 through noon ET on March 12 on the Mattel Creations site. It also comes with a control knob and a squid.

The Star Wars x Barbie Gift Set ($350) includes three dolls inspired by the Star Wars films. The dolls have also been available individually, but this is a complete set with in a collector packaging with Barbie designer Robert Best’s signature.
