Belgian Health Workers Protest Obligatory Vaccinations

Thousands of health workers and labor union representatives took to the streets of Brussels on December 7, protesting a government mandate that could see unvaccinated staff placed on leave from January.

Olivier Nyssen, general secretary of the CGSP union, told the Belga agency that sanctioning unvaccinated workers would only further increase staff shortages and stresses on the health system.

HLN said the march reached the office of Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke, where police used tear gas to repel some of the protesters who tried to enter the building. Credit: @FilipeMoringa via Storyful
