Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice To Enter Top 10 With Opening Weekend Sales

The hype surrounding Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ has been pretty huge for most of 2015, and along with the buzz analysts have predicted it’ll have a record-breaking opening weekend.

According to Comicbook.com, the predicted first weekend will come in at around $154 million which would enter it into the top 10 domestic openings of all time. In fact, if these numbers are correct, it’ll only just get into the top 10, but that’s still no feat to be sniffed at. But it won’t beat the likes of ‘Jurassic World’ or ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, which were absolutely massive in terms of the speed of its money making.

Boxoffice.com are the ones who are projecting the figures and just to give the superhero movie prediction context, they think ‘Deadpool’ will take $76 million.

If the figures are correct, then it’ll position itself between ‘Spider-Man 3′ ($113 million) and ‘The Dark Knight’ ($158 million).

In 2013, ‘Man of Steel’ opened with $116 million and went on to take $291 million and just shy of $670 million worldwide.

‘Dawn of Justice’ looks set to eclipse ‘Man of Steel’ and, with the addition of Batman and Wonder Woman, could top the $1 billion mark if the early reviews are positive.

Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Goddot, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is under significant pressure to not only garner a positive reception, but make a sizeable profit at the box office.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is in UK cinemas from 25 March, 2016.
