Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice: Ben Affleck Admits There’s Huge Pressure

Ben Affleck, the star of Zack Snyder’s epically titled ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’, says there’s an enormous weight on their shoulders to get it right.

Speaking to Variety, the ‘Gone Girl’ director said there’s a “ton of pressure” to make the movie great, with expectation from fans at an all time high.

“I mean I would be bull***ting you to say there isn’t.” Well, you’ve got to commend his honesty.

Despite the burden of making a film everyone will like - which admittedly is an impossibility in the film world - he’s optimistic about what doors this’ll open for Warner and, indeed, DC.

“You’ll see next year they are going to have a great year,” Affleck said. “They are now developing … probably the single greatest under-exploited IP asset in the entertainment business, the DC comic world. And now they have started to exploit that and you are going to see that blossom. And, when it does, it’s going to be massive.”

Affleck was excited by the levels of dedication Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara showed, too, recalling how he was impressed “by the intelligence of his notes, and the fact that he cared.”

It’s reassuring to hear that Warner are taking the project so seriously, and why shoudn’t they? Both hype and budget have proven huge, so a failure really isn’t on the card if they’re looking to muscle in on Marvel’s superhero dominance.
