Barry Keoghan explains Saltburn's most shocking sex scene
Saltburn spoilers follow.
Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has opened up about one particularly striking scene in Emerald Fennell's new film.
The movie follows Keoghan's Oxford student Oliver Quick, who becomes obsessed with his classmate Felix, played by Jacob Elordi. Oliver goes to some lengths in his obsession, even after Felix's death.
In one scene, Oliver actually humps the freshly-churned earth that contains Felix's body following the funeral. In an interview with Variety, Keoghan opened up about this scene.

"The gravesite was sort of like a collaboration with me and Emerald. On the day, I was like, ‘Can I try something?’ I wanted to see what the next level of obsession was. So I asked for a closed set. I wanted to see where it went. It could have gone completely wrong but I think it moved the story," Keoghan said.
Fennell, who came to prominence with her debut feature film Promising Young Woman, also spoke about the scene. She explained: "If you’re taken over with grief and horror and love and sadness, people do crazy things. And that’s what this film is about."
That's just one of several shocking scenes, however. Another such scene comes at the end of the film and sees Oliver dancing through the Saltburn mansion to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's hit song Murder on the Dance Floor. Keoghan recently spoke about this dance scene, too.

"It totally felt right. It's ownership. This is my place. It's full confidence in, 'I can do what I want in this manor. I can strip to my barest and waltz around because this is mine.' Yeah... it was fun," Keoghan said.
Saltburn has opened to a flurry of attention thanks to its two leads Keoghan and Elordi. However, the movie has had its detractors with some reviews, including Digital Spy's review, explaining that the picture favours style over substance.
Saltburn is in UK cinemas now.
