Barclays mobile banking app restored after outage for thousands of customers across UK
Barclays says access to its mobile banking app has now been restored after customers across the UK reported an outage on Wednesday morning.
Users said they were unable to access the app and were either seeing an error message or a loading screen.
Others said they were able to access the app but could not see their account information.
But the banking giant has apologised to its customers and said its service had now returned to normal.
A spokesperson said: “We apologise to customers who have been unable to access the Barclays App, and can confirm the service has been restored.
“Our Online Banking and automated telephone service were not impacted and customers were able to transfer funds, make payments and check balances.”
According to the complaints tracker Downdetector, some 2,000 people reported the app was down, with the first issues logged around 6am.
Customers complained about issues getting into their accounts to make payments and see their balance.
Hey there, I’m really sorry that you’re having issues with the App this morning!😞 Please don’t worry we’re aware of this problem and our team are working hard to fix this ASAP. 1/4
