Barcelona attack: Entertainment world sends love after terror rocks Spanish city

The world of entertainment has paid loving tribute to the city of Barcelona after it was rocked by a terror attack where at least 13 people have been killed.

A van drove into pedestrians in the busy La Ramblas area of the city leaving over 100 people injured with police later foiling a second attack that was expected to take place in a seaside resort an hour away from the city soon after.

People from across the world of film, TV and music - including Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette - were quick to show their support with heartfelt messages on social media.

Political figures, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, also paid tribute.

This attack mirrors the spate of attacks that have been carried out across Europe recently, including the one on London Bridge which killed eight people in June.

Spanish police shot five suspects dead while attempting to foil the second planned attack for which ISIS has claimed responsibility.

Three people have been arrested despite the van's driver still being at large.
