Balenciaga Channels the '90s for Pre-Fall 2022

Demna Gvasalia, now known as just Demna, has traveled back to the '90s for Balenciaga's Pre-Fall 2022 collection.

"The ’90s are the decade in which I realized I loved fashion," Demna told Vogue. "People have forgotten that era because you can’t really search it. Fashion was dirtier, nastier, and fun then, not filtered and behaved and polished and proper and seen on every single platform as it is now."

Teased through a vintage-inspired online presentation put together by director Korine, the line predominantly arrives in black, which stays true to the house's aesthetic. Select silhouettes including the bell-shaped puffer coats, loose-fitted pants, elegant dresses and a long T-shirt dress are dressed in the designer's "favorite color." Elsewhere, vibrant hues are seen on the neon yellow tweed dress, while the long-sleeve dress with boxy shoulders boasts a colorful floral pattern. Denim styles also take the spotlight such as the slouchy light wash denim jacket and dark blue flared jeans.
