'Bachelor' Zach Shallcross claps back at 'boring' criticism: 'You don't have to watch'

Many "Bachelor" fans have labeled Season 27 lead Zach Shallcross as "boring," but he's not letting that get to him.

Shallcross, 26, who proposed to Kaity Biggar on Monday night's finale, told People, "It's no surprise I'm not the crazy loud one or the most dramatic."

"I try to live my life like that in general," he continued. "I'm not going to let the show sway that."

Shallcross said there was "drama" in his season, but the ABC show ultimately was about love for him. "To the people that were calling me a boring Bachelor, like, 'Hey, kudos to you. I've found the love of my life. I got what I wanted. You don't have to watch,' " he said in response to critics.

Biggar stood up for her fiancé, telling the outlet Shallcross is "not boring in the slightest."

"He's so goofy, so fun. He's got — holy moly — amazing amount of qualities to him. Every day I am like, 'Wow, I didn't know I could fall even more in love with you.' But I do, every single day," the emergency room nurse said. "But again, this goes back to what Zach said: you don't have to watch, you don't have to like him. I love him."

Shallcross has faced fans calling him "boring" since before Season 27 began.

He leaned into the label during a January episode of the show, posing in front of a "BBE" sign. "Boring Bachelor Energy," the senior account executive captioned photos from the episode on Instagram.

Shallcross and Biggar aren't letting the naysayers bother them and have the support of the people closest to them. "Family and friends are always helping us through ," Shallcross said. "Both Kaity's family and my family, they're really rooting for us."

"The Bachelor" lead shared photos from his proposal on Instagram shortly after Monday's final rose ceremony, calling his fiancée the "love of my life."

"This woman right here deserves the world and I’m beyond thankful to have her in my life," Shallcross wrote. "I fall in love with you more and more each and every day. I love you best friend."

Biggar replied in the comments: "I love you so much. So excited to do life with you baby!!"
