CBS changed the channel. It changed the format. It needed to change the audio setup.
The Selection Show, airing on TBS, released a list of all automatic bids followed by all of the at-large bids at the beginning of the show in an effort to speed up the reveal process. Then it moved into revealing the bracket. In past iterations of the show, the top overall seeds had been revealed immediately, followed by filling in the bracket.
And though people had major qualms with the new format, it wasn’t even the worst part of the show. The audio was way, way off. It wasn’t even close. Here’s an example:

Eventually the production crew got it figured out, but that came long after the internet had its go.

@marchmadness Worst Selection Sunday EVER ! Audio and video out of sync, a group of 20 people in the audience pretending to be excited. Confusing af , other than that, great job !

Way to ruin Selection Sunday. Audio problems. Suspense taken out of it by doing this way. Awful.

Selection Sunday show is stressing me out. Not only because I'm eagerly awaiting @CofCBasketball's matchup but because the audio is not matching what is happening on the screen

Me this morning: "Selection Sunday is my favorite day of the year!"
Me watching out of sync audio, realizing USC is out and finding out I have to watch at least another week of Syracuse basketball with my insane boyfriend: pic.twitter.com/ynSQKd4Hmd

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Jesus Christ–let's take all the fun out of Selection Sunday with a live audience and some sick reverb that's out of sync with the audio. Great idea, TBS.

There are some traditions you shouldn’t mess with and Selection Sunday is one of them. Also fire your audio guy. #SELECTIONSUNDAY
