Atlantic Ocean Begins to Breach Sea Wall Amid Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian, an “extremely dangerous Category 4 storm,” made landfall in Florida on Wednesday, September 28, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The NHC reported that the maximum sustained winds in the storm were estimated at 150 mph (240 km/h).

The National Weather Service warned people to shelter in place and to expect “life-threatening storm surge.”
