Athletes Are Posting TikToks About The Olympic Village Dining Hall And The Food Looks Amazing

The Olympics always become a spectacle for die-hard sports fans and casual viewers alike. People are intrigued not only by the athletes but also the behind-the-scenes aspects of the Olympic Village. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Olympic games were pushed back a year and the processes, like those of the dining halls in the Olympic Village, have been adjusted. Lucky for us, athletes are taking to TikTok to share their daily routines.

In order to compete on the world stage of sports, it's of course important for athletes to be fueled properly. For that purpose, the dining hall in the Olympic Village offers various food choices and has a specific protocol to minimize person-to-person contact.

Tilly Kearns of the Australian water polo team shared a TikTok showing how she and her teammates enjoy their meals. Sanitizing stations are right at the entrance to the dining hall and then clean disposable gloves are given to each athlete. Other protocols like face masks, individual plexiglass cubicles at the tables, and disinfecting wipes are also present. Tilly explained her team has a 10-minute rule for eating to minimize exposure before putting on a new, clean mask after their meals.

Harry McNulty, an Irish rugby player, posted a video on the platform showing all of the food options available. Stations for pizza, pasta, stir fry, Halal, Japanese food, noodles, Roti, cereal, deli sandwiches, and more are all up for grabs. There are even vegan and gluten-free stations for Olympians who may have different dietary needs.

What I'm gathering is I should get my athleticism up in the next four years so maybe one day, I too can enjoy the food available at the Olympics. Only the best for the best of the best. Ya know?
