Ashwin Becomes 4th Indian to Pick 400th Test Wickets

As India’s bowlers once again steam past England’s batting order in Motera, spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has crossed yet another personal milestone.

The seventh wicket of England’s second innings on Day 2 of the 3rd Test was Jofra Archer and as the umpire gave him out lbw R Ashwin celebrated not just his 3rd wicket of the innings, but also the 400th wicket of his Test career.

Ashwin is the fourth Indian to cross the landmark after Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and Harbhajan Singh.

The ace spinner though has become the second fastest bowler to achieve the landmark after Muttiah’s Muralitharan. The Sri Lankan accomplished the feat in 73 Tests while Ashwin has taken 77. Richard Hadlee and Dale Steyn are jointly the third-fastest having picked 400 Test wickets in 80 Tests.
