Ash Blankets St Vincent Amid La Soufriere Eruption

Clouds of smoke and ash blanketed parts of St Vincent as La Soufrière volcano erupted on the morning of April 14.

Footage uploaded by Hayden Billingy shows ash falling on to a windscreen while a motorist drives through muddy roads. Large plumes of ash and smoke can be seen later on in the footage, following the eruption.

The country’s National Emergency Management Organisation confirmed an explosive eruption took place on Wednesday and cautioned locals of ongoing eruptions. Credit: Hayden Billingy via Storyful
