Arsenal player ratings vs Tottenham: William Saliba and Thomas Partey the star men in statement win

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League by beating rivals Tottenham.

The Gunners took the lead in the 20th minute through Thomas Partey, but a Harry Kane penalty levelled the game before half-time.

Arsenal, however, kicked on after the break and Gabriel Jesus restored their lead by bundling the ball home from close range.

Granit Xhaka then wrapped up the victory in the 67th minute by firing the ball past Hugo Lloris after turning inside the box.

Aaron Ramsdale 6

Made one excellent save from Richarlison early on, although replays suggested that the Brazilian was offside. Other than that didn’t have masses to do.

Ben White 7

A good performance at right-back from White, who was left out of the England squad last month. Overlapped and linked up well with Bukayo Saka.

William Saliba 9 | Star player

What a brilliant performance from the Frenchman in his first ever North London Derby. Arsenal were rocking before half-time but Saliba was so calm and composed.

Gabriel 5

Didn’t have a great game and he looked shaky at times. Was poor for the Tottenham goal as he dived in on Richarlison to give away a penalty.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 6

Compared to his very high standards this wasn’t the best game from the Ukraine international. He was still solid enough, but didn’t influence the match like he can.

Martin Odegaard 6

A steady performance from the Norwegian, who was outshone by the other two Arsenal midfielders. Struggled at times to break down a Spurs defence that sat deep.

Thomas Partey 9

A great performance from the Ghana international, who opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box. His range of passing was excellent all game.

Granit Xhaka 7

Had a difficult first-half and he should have cleared the ball during the passage of play that led to Tottenham’s penalty. Redeemed himself after the break with a well-taken goal.

Bukayo Saka 7

Bright and lively, and he played a big hand in Arsenal’s crucial second goal when he cut inside and had a shot saved by Hugo Lloris.

Gabriel Jesus 8

The Brazilian caused Eric Dier problems all game with his movement on and off the ball. Got the goal his performance deserved with a poacher’s finish.

Gabriel Martinelli 8

A classic Martinelli performance from the winger who just ran non-stop for the whole game. Unlucky to not get on the scoresheet himself.
