The Terminator and Predator star Arnold Schwarzenegger is reported to have been involved in a serious car collision yesterday (January 21) a short distance from his own home and involving four vehicles.

First reported by TMZ, the 74-year-old was pictured at the scene on Sunset Boulevard in California, seemingly unharmed, with his black GMC Yukon SUV partially rolled on top of a red Prius on the side of the road.

Schwarzenegger was allegedly turning onto the street when his vehicle hit the Prius; the SUV's airbags deployed and it subsequently rolled onto a white Porsche directly behind him. The woman behind the wheel of the Prius was said to be bleeding heavily from a wound on her head before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Schwarzenegger is reported to be "deeply concerned" about her wellbeing and wishes to "personally check up on her".

In a brief statement, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department revealed: "There was a collision about 4.35 on Sunset and Allenford Avenue. It was a four-vehicle traffic collision (and) fire departments and paramedics transported one female to a local hospital with an abrasion to her head. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a factor in this and all parties remained at the scene."

Police officials are now conducting a full investigation into the accident.

Meanwhile, in October of last year, the actor and politician revealed that he had undergone heart surgery for a second time, telling his social media followers from a hospital bed that he had received a new aortic valve, following a previous operation to provide him with a new pulmonary valve. He then went on to thank the medical team who had cared for him, saying: "Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team".
