The Arlington Renegades make a change at quarterback

The Arlington Renegades have remade their quarterback room after both quarterbacks disappointed to start the season.

The Renegades started the season with Drew Plitt at quarterback and after two below-average performances, they moved on to Sloter who similarly struggled.

Sloter completed 61 of 101 passes for 499 yards with one touchdown and 4 interceptions during his time as the starting quarterback. Over that span, the Renegades went 2-2 but their offense struggled mightily not scoring more than 12 points in a single game that Sloter played.

The Renegades released Sloter on Monday.

To replace Sloter the Renegades traded linebacker Ryan Mueller to the Vegas Vipers and received quarterback Luis Perez in exchange.

Perez has started multiple games for the Vipers this season completing 79 of 121 passes for 901 yards with 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Perez has more touchdowns thrown this season than the Renegades offense has total touchdowns scored.

Perez has been one of the XFL’s better quarterbacks this season ranking top five in yards per attempt (7.4), touchdowns, passing yards and completion percentage(65.3%).

With Perez behind center, the Renegades’ offense might finally be able to consistently score.

The Renegades next play the Seattle Sea Dragons on Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Choctaw Stadium (FX/ESPN+).
