FROM THE ARCHIVES: Photos of Juneteenth celebrations in Fort Worth since the 1970s

Here’s a look back at how people in Fort Worth celebrated Juneteenth over the decades, before it became a federal holiday in 2021, thanks in large part to Opal Lee’s activism. The 1975 celebration in Sycamore Park had more than 30,000 people attend.
