On anniversary of Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV win, NFL Films re-releases ‘Wasp’ video recap

Ah, where does the time go?

Has it really been three years since the Chiefs beat the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV?

Yep, it was on Feb. 2, 2020 that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes walked to the sideline during a break in the action and asked offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy: “What are we thinking? Do we have time to run Wasp?”

Spoiler alert: They did.

Jet Chip Wasp was the turning point of the Super Bowl, as Patrick Mahomes completed a long pass to Tyreek Hill that kick-started a three-touchdown spurt by the Chiefs.

NFL Films took note of the anniversary and re-released the “Turning Point” video it made for the play. It’s become one of the most-watched play recaps of any Super Bowl in recent memory.

Although this play is from three years ago, it’s still fun to look back at one of the biggest calls in Chiefs history.
