UK prepares five million vaccine doses in case of bird flu pandemic
More than five million doses of a vaccine are being prepared in the UK to combat any potential bird flu pandemic. The jab - the human H5 influenza vaccine - is only intended for use if a strand of the virus known as H5N1 spreads among humans. There is no evidence at this stage of human-to-human transmission, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), which has secured a contract for the doses.

Elon Musk blocked from receiving 'world's largest pay award' by Delaware court
Elon Musk has again been prevented from becoming even richer by a US court which blocked his $56bn (£44bn) pay package despite company shareholders approving the sum. Shareholders of the world's most valuable carmaker Tesla, had approved the package in June, which if paid would have been the biggest ever for the head of a listed company, Delaware judge Kathaleen McCormick said. In scrutinising the vote Ms McCormick judged Mr Musk controlled the pay negotiations and Tesla made misstatements in its document given to shareholders ahead of the vote.

Wolves to lose 'strictly protected' status in Europe
Wolves in Europe will be less protected from hunting from 2025, after a majority of European countries on Tuesday accepted a proposal to downgrade their status due to their growing number and their impact on agriculture and farming livestock. Wolves' status will be lowered as of March 7 to "protected" from "strictly protected" under the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, in a move condemned by animal welfare groups.
