Anger as Manchester firefighters targeted with fireworks
A fire service has condemned the "shocking behaviour" of people who pelted one of its crews with fireworks.
The firefighters were attending a blaze in Manchester recently when they were subjected to the attack.
Footage released by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service shows a number of fireworks hitting one of its fire engines and almost striking a firefighter.
The service hit out at the behaviour on social media.
A spokesman for the service said they were "shocked that we have to remind people" not to attack emergency service workers.
All week we’ve been sharing photos of some of our incredible staff to bring the person behind the uniform to life and the dangerous work they do. Our firefighters have loved your support and we know so many of you are shocked that we have to remind people not to attack them. But,… pic.twitter.com/NAYMNWKCvR

They added: "It's bang out of order and we won't tolerate it.
"Good people of Greater Manchester, we know you're all better than this, call this behaviour out, speak to your children about it and support all emergency workers so they can do their vital job free from attack."
