Amy Adams confirms Man of Steel 2 script is in the works

There’s been plenty of talk where the DC Extended Universe in concerned, especially over when we’ll actually see ‘Man of Steel 2′ come to fruition.

We had heard murmurs that a sequel was in development but it seemed that Warner Bros. and DC were keen to focus on their other properties for the next few years, which involved getting the likes of ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘Aquaman’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Justice League’, and, most recently, Ben Affleck’s Batman solo movie to the big screen.

When asked about the future of a ‘Man of Steel’ sequel, Adams told HeyUGuys:

“I read about ‘Man of Steel 2′ when you guys did. A lot of times I find out after the fact, which is fine, it’s completely normal, it’s not indicative of anything. But yeah, I know they’re working on a script and I know it’s in the works.”

So even though Adams hadn’t been formally told, she does know that it’s actually happening and will obviously be involved as Lois Lane.

With Warner Bros. unable to secure a director early on, the project had been shelved but now seems they’re happy to move forward with a sequel that saw the Henry Cavill-led first do well at the box office in 2013. With its steep $225 million budget, the Superman flick took a respectable $668 million at the worldwide box office, which should warrant the green lighting of a sequel anyway.

George Miller’s previously been linked to directing the follow-up but despite the buzz of the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ helmer potentially taking on the project, fans were left disappointed when Warner failed to get his signature.

With the scripting stages only just underway, it’ll be some time before we see the film in cinemas. At present, there’s no shoot schedule or even a release date in mind, so it’ll likely come after DC’s upcoming batch of films over the coming years.
