Akshay Kumar’s Movie Raksha Bandhan Praised by Moviegoers

Hindi movie Raksha Bandhan that was released a few days ago has received positive reviews from the moviegoers of Indian and Pakistani descent.

The film, starring Akshay Kumar, is being premiered in Canada where moviegoers are praising the light comedy which revolves around family values.

The plot revolves around Lala Kedarnath (Akshay Kumar), who is the eldest and only brother of four sisters. He runs a small snacks shop that was started by his father.

His bedridden mother wants him to marry but he promises her he would get married only after he marries off his sisters into suitable homes.

The story then follows Lala Kedarnath as he tries to fulfill this responsibility while navigating through his own lovelife.

Kumar is a Canadian citizen who is considered to be one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema. He started his acting career with action movies but gradually transformed himself into an actor who could perform naturally even in comedy movies.

Many of his movies have been a commercial success.

The film is directed by Aanand L Rai, produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma in association with Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani and Cape of Good Films, and written by Himanshu Sharma & Kanika Dhillon.

The music of Raksha Bandhan has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya and the lyrics are by Irshad Kamil.

Shruti, 24, a resident of Milton went to watch the movie with her friends as it premiered. Talking to this paper, she was all praises for the movie. “It is a good, family-oriented movie and we enjoyed watching it!”, she said.

Nasir, 32, another resident of Milton, said he had come to watch the movie alone, but he would get his family and friends to watch this movie and would definitely tag along.

“It’s not everyday that you get a movie that is fun and is a relaxing entertainment”, he said.

The movie is in Hindi which is mutually understood by most of the residents of India and Pakistan. The diaspora of the two countries resides in Milton in big numbers and the movie is a success with them.

Shanza, 30, a woman of Pakistani descent, came to watch the movie with her family. She told she had always been a fan of Akshay Kumar and had been desperately waiting for its release.

“I have always watched Akshay Kumar’s movies in theaters, I kept up my streak and this was no disappointment”, she said.
