A.J. Brown has surgery on both knees, says he should have been 'done for the year in like Week 2'
A.J. Brown had surgery on both knees.
The Tennessee Titans wide receiver went on Instagram live on Tuesday apparently fresh from the operating room and still under the influence of anesthesia to fill his followers in.
He revealed that he dealt with knee pain all season and was told he “was done for the year in like Week 2.” He makes the revelation in the video below at the 1:46 mark after some loopy back-and-forth with his nurse and a vow to be “the best receiver in the NFL.”
‘I was sore all year’
AJ Brown (@1kalwaysopen_) went on Instagram live earlier and said he had surgery on both knees. As well as he was told he was “done for the year in like Week 2.” He mentioned he wants to be a Titan for life and how Mike Vrabel will probably cuss him out for this. 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/ewMjGgQ6SU

“I was sore all year,” Brown said. “Nobody knew. They told me I was done for the year in like Week 2. I played all year. I ended up making the Pro Bowl. Didn’t know how I was gonna do it. I did it.”
Brown’s status after surgery
Meanwhile, NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo provided some clarification on Brown’s procedure, calling it a “cleanup in both knees” that shouldn’t impact his status for next season.
Brown missed two games early in the season with a knee bruise that appears to be related to Tuesday’s procedure. Despite the ailment and the missed time, Brown went on to tally 70 catches for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns to earn Pro Bowl honors in his second NFL season.
If he was dealing with knee pain, he certainly didn’t let it show on the field.
He's unreal. 😮 @Brown1arthur

The only thing more impressive than that Week 11 touchdown catch against the Ravens was Brown’s post-op performance on Instagram.
