AEW's Miro stars in trailer for new CBS drama East New York

AEW wrestler Miro appears in the trailer for new CBS police drama East New York.

The first trailer for the series dropped on Wednesday (May 18) after the show was announced as part of CBS's Fall 2022-23 schedule. It will air on Sunday nights at 9pm.

The series' synopsis reads: "Regina Haywood is the newly promoted police captain of East New York, an impoverished, working class neighbourhood at the eastern edge of Brooklyn.

"She leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to deploy her creative methods of serving and protecting during the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification."

The Leftover's Amanda Warren leads the cast alongside Star Wars'Jimmy Smits, Young Sheldon's Richard Kind, Kevin Rankin, and Orange is the New Black's Elizabeth Rodriguez.

AEW's Miro plays Nikolai Dushkin who is shown in the trailer being questioned by police and asking for a lawyer.

Miro, who was known as Rusev in WWE, shared a photo in character on Instagram back in March where he posed with a very angry face and a very cute puppy and wrote: "Living in Brooklyn for couple of weeks.

"Very excited about shooting this great pilot!!! Meet Nikolai Dushkin….. and pickles, of course."

Miro last wrestled at Full Gear on November 13, 2021 where he was defeated by Bryan Danielson in the finals of the world title eliminator tournament. He had previously been out of action due to injury.

East New York will premiere on CBS, Sundays at 9pm EST later this year.
