Aditi Ashok is India's youngest golfer at the 2016 Rio Olympics (male or female) and only woman golfer from India to play at Rio Olympics. For a country that has not been very attentive or celebratory towards games other than cricket or now tennis and badminton, sports like Golf have been away from the spotlight; but golfers like Aditi Ashok are changing that, one goal at a time!

Columbia's embattled president came under renewed pressure on Friday as a university oversight committee met to address her attempt two weeks ago to clamp down on protests that have roiled the Ivy League school and spread across the country and aboard. President Nemat Minouche Shafik faced an outcry from many students, faculty and outside observers for summoning New York police to campus on April 18 to dismantle an encampment of tents set up by protesters against Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza. Police arrested more than 100 people that day and removed the tents from the main lawn of the school's Manhattan campus, but the protesters quickly returned and set up the encampment again, narrowing Columbia's options on shutting down the protest.

Staff at CVS Health's unit Omnicare in Las Vegas voted to join the Pharmacy Guild, becoming the first location at the national pharmacy chain to join the union. About 87% of workers at CVS Omnicare, a provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, in Las Vegas voted on Thursday in favor of unionization. The Canadian dollar edged lower against its U.S. counterpart on Friday as U.S. inflation data suggested the Federal Reserve could turn more hawkish compared to the Bank of Canada and some other major peers, but the currency still notched a weekly gain. "It is getting harder for the Fed not to sound hawkish given the inflation data surprises since January," strategists at TD Securities, including Jayati Bharadwaj, said in a note.

The U.S. Labor Department on Friday corrected productivity data from 2019 through 2023 after a computation error in off-the-clock hours worked ratios biased downward the labor hours levels underlying the productivity and costs data published last month. Worker productivity increased at a 3.3% annualized rate in the fourth quarter, corrected from the previously reported 3.2% pace. Rising worker productivity is helping to contain labor costs for businesses, which ultimately could lead to lower inflation over time.
